Edward Robert Burns, age 88, died of natural causes on January 29, 2021, in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

Dennis D. Johnson, age 81 of New Prague, MN passed away peacefully on January 17, 2021, after contracting Covid-19, which accelerated his battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Dennis was born August 29, 1939 in Blooming Prairie, MN to Menard and Meta (Stork) Johnson. When he was a young boy, the family moved to Elkton, MN. In 1958, he graduated from Elkton Public School where his lifelong love of football began.

Eileen Florinda (Foss) Chapman, 78, of Montgomery, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, at the Mayo Hospital in Mankato.
Eileen was born on April 2, 1942, in Reine Township (Skime) of Roseau County, MN, to Olaf and Florinda (Skime) Foss. She was a 1960 high school graduate of International Falls High School.
Eileen met her sweetheart, Harvey Chapman, at a bowling alley in International Falls when she was 20 years old and they were united in marriage on March 14, 1964, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in International Falls.

Melvin J. Hartman, age 68, of New Prague, died peacefully on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Central Heath Care in Le Center, MN.  Mel was born on August 28, 1952 in New Prague to Alfred Christ and Veronica (Deutsch) Hartman.  He graduated from New Prague High School and then entered the US Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War.  He married Carol Nold on November 20, 1982 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague.  Mel owned and operated West End Liquors until retirement.  Mel was Mr.

Jeanette T “Jane” Horejsi, age 93, of Hutchinson, formerly of New Prague, died peacefully on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Harmony River Nursing Home, Hutchinson.  Jeanette was born on November 6, 1927 to Frank J. and Eleanor A. (Simota) Mikolasek.  She attended district country school and St. Wenceslaus Catholic School.   Jeanette married George F.

Philip Richard Dohmen, age 61 of Montgomery, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine.  A private service will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Irene Brown, age 90 of Northfield, MN, passed away Thursday evening, January 21, 2021, at home.
Irene Cecelia Brown was born December 11, 1930, on the family farm in New Market, MN to William and Celia (Cervenka) Shimota. She was raised on the family farm, and baptized and confirmed at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague. She attended country school and graduated from New Prague High School in 1948. Following her education she had various jobs including working at Dayton’s in downtown Minneapolis.

John M. Sirek, age 78, of New Prague, died peacefully with his family at his side on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation and Assisted Living Center.  John was born on December 11, 1942 on the family farm to Mathias Thomas and Bessie A.

Richard (Rick) Vanasek, MD, 76, passed away Tuesday evening, January 19, 2021, at Reflections on the Three Links Campus in Northfield.

Barbara Jean Shoemaker, 82, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother passed away January 13, 2021. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota on March 4, 1938. Barbara was the daughter of the late Steven & Helen Friendt (Miller). Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Francis Shoemaker.

Arden Wesley Hull, age 87, died Monday, January 4 at his home in New Prague, MN surrounded by his children and grandchildren. 
He was married to his one true love Darlene Frances Swanson for 64 years. 
Arden is survived by his children, Vicki (Jacob) Sells, Kathie Hull, Debbie (Mark) Wheeler, David Hull, and Patti Gilster; his eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; his sisters-in-law, LaRie Hull and Carol (Hull) Carlson, many loving nieces and nephews and countless friends. 

John R. Henle, age 84, of New Prague, died peacefully with his wife at his side, due to complications of Covid 19 on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at District One Hospital in Faribault. 
John was born on December 16, 1936 in New Ulm to Alfred and Viola (Hofmeister) Henle.  He attended 12 years of Catholic School, graduating from Holy Trinity High School and then went on to complete his Bachelor Degree in Music from McPhail College of Music. 

Ivan R. Flicek, age 85, of Annandale, formerly of Faribault, died Thursday, December 24, 2020 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
A Private Requiem Mass will be held Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault with Fr. Nino Molina officiating. Burial will follow at Meadow Ridge Cemetery in Faribault.

Ruth A. Giesen, age 75, of New Prague, died peacefully with her family at her side at home on Christmas Day, 2020.  Ruth was born on May 23, 1945 in Hutchinson, MN to Ignatius and Caroline (Wosmek) Kaminski.  She grew up in Silver Lake, graduating from Silver Lake High School in 1963.  She married the love of her life, John P. Giesen on August 24, 1973 in Union Hill, where they raised their two children.  Ruth worked at St.

Rose Ann Solheid, age 86, died peacefully with her family at her side on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center and Assisted Living.  Rose Ann was born on August 5, 1934 in Cedar Lake Township, Scott County to Mathias T. and Bessie (Barta) Sirek.  She attended country school at Veseli and graduated from New Prague High School.  She married the love of her life, Harold J.

James F. Cleasby (Jim), 72 passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020.
 Jim resided in Columbia Heights, MN. with his wife of 52 years, Faye (LaCroix).  Their two daughters, Heather Lucking and Mindy Murphy, (Joe)  live in the vicinity.
Jim was raised in Lonsdale, the son of Edward, (Ed) and Adeline Cleasby, (Herda).
Jim graduated from Montgomery High School, class of '66.  Lived and worked most of his life in the Minneapolis area.
Jim was preceded in death by his Father, Ed, brothers Paul and Mark, nephew Clinton, brother in-law Jim Kokoszynski.
