Richard A. Arens, 86 of Webster, MN and formerly of Kellogg, MN and Hopkins, MN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center, New Prague.
Richard was born June 23, 1934, in Wabasha to Matthew and Bess (Odell) Arens.  He graduated from Kellogg High School and from the Dunwoody Institute with a degree in drafting.  He served in the US Army Reserves and was honorably discharged.  On October 16, 1954, he married Lillian F. Buchholz and they moved to Hopkins and then Webster. Lillian preceded him in death on June 3, 1974.

Robert J. “Bob” Maxa, age 55, died peacefully with his family at his side, after a long and difficult struggle with multiple health problems on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Reflections – End of Life Care in Northfield.  Bob was born on November 24, 1965 in New Prague to Jacob A. and Audree A. (Sullivan) Maxa.  He attended St.

Barbara D. Loebner, age 84, of Montgomery, formerly of New Prague, died peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Traditions of Montgomery. Barbara was born on April 27, 1936 in Minneapolis to Dale and Agnes (Shepherdson) Smith. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and went on to attain both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in teaching from the University of Minnesota. She married the love of her life, George J. Loebner on May 12, 1956 in Minneapolis.

Thomas J. Shaughnessy, age 87, of New Prague, died peacefully on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center and Assisted Living.  Tom was born on the family farm in Derrynane Township, Le Sueur County, MN on December 28, 1932 to Thomas J. and Evelyn (Hallinan) Shaughnessy.  He attended St.

Marcia “Marcie” Joan Green, age 72, of Hill City, MN, formerly of New Prague, died at her home on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, after a courageous fight against malignant melanoma. Marcie was born in Minneapolis, MN on March 31, 1948, to Alvin and Muriel (Synnes) Chadwick.  Marcie married Thomas Lee Green on September 13, 1980, in Mound, MN. During her life, Marcie's worked as a veterinary technician, a secretary, a housekeeper, and a scheduler. She retired in 2015 and was happy to spend more time with her family and curling up on the couch with a good book.

Malecha, Celia Catherine, age 94 of Lonsdale, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 9, 2020. Preceded in death by her husband, Joe S.; siblings, Joseph (Emma) Tuma, Anna (Charles) Trenda, Jim (Grace) Tuma, Edward Tuma, Monnie (Ted) Jirik, and infant Evelyn Tuma.

Mary Ann Mach, age 94, of New Prague, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation and Assisted Living. 

Elaine I. Jacobson, age 90, of New Prague, died peacefully with her family at her side as a result of complications due to Covid 19 on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center and Assisted Living. 

Justin J. Deutsch, age 99, died peacefully on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center and Assisted Living.  Less than a month shy of his 100th birthday. 

Mary Agnes Dorzinski, 93 of Le Center, passed away on Friday, Dec. 4, 2020, in New Prague. Private family interment will be at the Fort Snelling Cemetery.
Mary Agnes was born on September 1, 1927, in Belle Plaine Township, Scott County, MN to Lawrence and Mary (Schipreth) Reak. She was united in marriage to Edmund Joseph Dorzinski on August 28, 1954, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lexington. They had one son, Edward Joseph, born on December 22, 1960. 

John E. Ruhland, age 79, of Montgomery passed away at Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital in New Prague, on Tuesday, December 1.
John was born on August 30, 1941, in Montgomery, MN to Frank Ruhland and Dorothy (Dvorak) Ruhland. He was their only child.
John graduated from Montgomery High School in 1959, attended Mankato State, and was in the Army Reserves from 1960 to 1965.

Ronald Zelenka, age 75 passed away December 1st, 2020 at the VA Hospital in Des Moines, IA.

O’Meara, Gerald Vincent, age 85 of Rosemount passed away December 2, 2020. Preceded in death by his parents Vincent And Mary Adeline (Cashin) O’Meara; siblings, Mary (Dennis) Hagerty, Virginia (Gene) Stoering and James T. O'Meara; sister-in-law Jeanie O’Meara. Survived by his brothers, Leonard (Lavonne) and Patrick O’Meara; sister-in-law, Monica O'Meara. Also, many nieces and nephews and friends.

Robert F. Bastyr, age 78, of Jordan, died Sunday, November 29, 2020 due to complications of Covid 19 at VA Hospital in Minneapolis.  Robert was born on September 7, 1942 in New Prague to Robert R. and Estellene M. (Rutt) Bastyr.  He attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School, graduated from New Prague High School, and attended Mankato Vocational School in mechanics.  Always proud of his military service, Robert served in the US Army in Vietnam with the 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, known as the Bobcats.  He married Margaret A. “Margie” Bastyr on August 5, 1989 at St.

Gladhill, Rebecca (Riggs) of Shakopee MN. lost her 26 year battle with cancer to be with the Lord on Nov. 26, 2020 at the age of 69. She was raised in Evansville, Indiana where she enjoyed working on the family’s Jersey dairy farm with her siblings and many cousins.  She was a 4-H member for 10 years and loved showing her cattle at local, regional, state and national shows.  She graduated from F.J.

Jeron Pint, age 76 of Jordan, entered eternal life on Saturday, November 28, 2020. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Jordan, on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 11AM. Father Neil Bakker will preside and Jeron’s wife, Marilyn, will act as his urnbearer.
Friends can live stream the service by visiting the church’s website and clicking on the live streaming tab. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be distributed by Jeron’s family in his memory.
