Robert William Rezac, age 84, of rural Elko, MN passed away peacefully on October 22, 2020 at Reflections End of Life Care in Northfield. Son of William and Julia (Skluzacek) Rezac, he was born in Webster township on the farm on April 20th, 1936.

James Clarence Reemts of New Prague, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, October 14th, 2020.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Marie, and brothers Ray, Gene, and  Ronnie and sisters Shirley and Ann. James was also preceded in death by his grandson, Noah.  

Dorothy Anna Clara Jasperson, age 75, of New Prague, died peacefully of Covid 19 complicated further by long-standing Parkinson’s Disease at Redeemer Health and Rehab Center in Minneapolis.  Dorothy was born on January 9, 1945 in Wanamingo, MN to Aron and Gina (Shelstad) Myran.  She graduated from Wanamingo High School, and went on to receive her Bachelor’s Degree from Mankato State University, and a Master’s from St.

Eugene E. “Gene” Bisek, age 85, of New Prague, died peacefully after a brief illness on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis.  Gene was born on August 10, 1935 in New Prague to Emil F. and Mary N. (Novak) Bisek.  After graduating from New Prague High School, Gene entered the US Air Force and was stationed in Saudi Arabia.  He married Sandra Swygart in Vale, OR on February 2, 1957.  The couple had 3 children together.  Gene married Mary A.

Betty Jabs, of Jordan, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 2, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.  She was 97 years old.  Betty was a wonderful woman and will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Julia M. Odenthal, age 76, of Le Center, died suddenly, in her daughter’s arms on Wednesday, September 23, 2020.  Julia was born on November 29, 1943 in Elko, Minnesota to Frank and Julia (Horejsi) Peterka.  Julia married the love of her life, Cornelius T. Odenthal on August 8, 1964 at St.

Susan M Kurkowski, 75 of New Prague, Celebration of LIfe Service will be on Sunday, Oct 4, 2020 at 1:00pm at the Wagner Funeral Home Chapel in Jordan.  Visitation will be held 3 hours prior with luncheon to follow service at the funeral home.

Roman A. Malecha passed away on September 18, 2020, at the age of 80. He was preceded in death by Parents, Albert G and Ludmilla (Havel) Malecha; first wife, Darlene Malecha; brothers and sisters, Lillian Tupy, Helen Novak, Albert, Stanley, Joe, Robert and George Malecha.  
Roman was a man of deep faith who dedicated his life to his family, church, friends and community. Roman attended Bethlehem Academy and Seminary school intending to be a priest, until he met Darlene Horejsi at a wedding dance and decided to take a new path in life. 

George N. Nytes, age 64, of Shakopee, died on Thursday September 17, 2020 in his home with his dear and caring wife at his side after a seven-year long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. George was born on June 11, 1956 in New Prague, to Howard and Margaret (Holub) Nytes. He attended Union Hill country school and New Prague Public School. George married Ying Li in Shakopee on September 14, 2017 and she supported him through his journey through Parkinson’s. George loved traveling and anything to do with horses, horseback riding in particular.

Virginia A. Lucier Hoyt, age 86, of New Prague, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at The Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine.  Virginia was born on April 2, 1934 in Fargo, North Dakota to Charles E. and Cora A.

Roger Lee Carlson, age 67, of Webster, died peacefully surrounded by his family after a short but heroic battle with cancer on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN. Roger was born on January 10, 1953 in Minneapolis, to Allan and Shirley (Turner) Carlson. He attended and graduated from Chaska High School and went on to attend the University of Minnesota Duluth and Hennepin Vo-tech.

Lillian A. Havlicek, 91, of New Prague, died peacefully, on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Mala Strana.
Lillian was born on January 7, 1929 to John and Bessie (Trcka) Flicek. She grew up on a Montgomery rural farm located by Cody Lake in Wheatland Township.  Lillian married Joseph J. Havlicek on November 4, 1947 in Lonsdale. Lillian and Joe lived on a farm by Lonsdale where they raised their daughter Linda.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, September 27 for Carol Freid, who passed away February 28, 2020. A visitation will be held at the Montgomery American Legion from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. A service will be held at 3 p.m. Lunch will follow.

Bonita J. Nelson, age 70. Died unexpectedly on September 5, 2020
Bonnie was born November 29, 1949 in Minneapolis, MN, to Lyle and Lila (Waller) Melcher. She was raised in Minneapolis and graduated from West High School in 1967. Shortly after graduation Bonnie married the love of her life Leon Nelson. They lived in Minneapolis for 8 years, moved to Lonsdale in 1977, where they raised their two children, and finally moving to New Prague in 2011. Bonnie loved going to the casino and had a love for Elvis Presley. Her greatest love of all was time with her family.

Viskocil, Bettylou, Age 78, of Bloomington, passed away September 4, 2020. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by sons, Todd and Jay; sister, Marilyn Green. Mass of Christian Burial Friday September 11th 11am at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, 9900 Lyndale Ave S, Bloomington. Visitation at the church beginning at 9:30 am.

Donald “Donny” Frank Moravec, 78, of New Prague, formally of Montgomery, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery with visitation held two hours prior.
