Carol M. Williams, age 86, of New Prague, died peacefully in the presence of her family on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at St. Gertrude’s Health and Rehabilitation Center in Shakopee after a 6-week diagnosis of multiple myeloma cancer.

Are you serious? Are you really considering not to mask, even when it’s been mandated in Minnesota? I know it’s not the most comfortable, but I don’t find tight jeans or bathing suits very comfortable either, so I avoid them when possible.

Neil S. Dezelske, age 54, of Litchfield died on Thursday, August 6, 2020, at his home.  A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 10, 2020, at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Litchfield.

Patricia M. Anderson, age 65, died suddenly on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Two Twelve Medical Center in Chaska.  Patty was born on June 8, 1955 in New Prague to Leo M. and Alyce R. (Shimek) Mamer.  She attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School, graduated from New Prague High School, and attended Hennepin Technical College.  Patty married the love of her life, Roger L. Anderson, on September 21, 1973 at St.

Gordon C. Carlson, 89 years old, died peacefully at All Saints Senior Living in Shakopee, MN, on August 4th, 2020. He was surrounded by his loving daughters, Pam, Joy and Candy. Gordy will be forever missed by many dear family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Diane, who died in 2013. They enjoyed 62 years together in marriage with their 3 daughters Pam (Mike Wise), Joy (Rick Daley), Candy (Dan Dufek), 7 grandchildren & 11 great-grandchildren. Gordy was the son of George(d) and Jessie Carlson(d), and brother of Robert(d), Geraldine(d), Nancy, Thomas(d).

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 18, at 6:30 pm, with sweet treats served following at Immanuel Lutheran on Fish Lake, 20200 Fairlawn Avenue, Prior Lake. A private family burial will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Donations will be given to Bud’s favorite charities.

The shortened DRS amateur baseball league finished play Sunday, August 2.
St. Patrick claimed the league title with an 8-1 record, one game in front of runners-up Prior Lake and Lonsdale.
The 10 teams from the DRS League will now compete for four spots in the Class C State Tournament the next two weeks.
All the teams will play in the Region 3C Tourney, starting Tuesday for the bottom four league teams.

On Sunday, Aug. 2, the New Prague senior boys were crowned the Champions of the Senior Salute Baseball Tournament hosted by the St. Paul Saints at CHS Field in St. Paul over the last two weeks. The Trojans finished with a 5-1 record and posted some pretty amazing stats for the tournament. This also brings some closure to a senior season cut short this spring by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The New Prague City Council had an update on reconstruction work on Main Street during its electronically held meeting on Monday, Aug. 3. As part of the bore and tunnel work for a new storm sewer line under the railroad tracks, the subcontractor, Rice Lake Boring, will be working around the clock until the installation is complete.

New Prague Area Schools (NPAS) is working on plans for bringing students back to school, keeping them safe and engaging them in high levels of learning. In a letter, sent out to families on Monday, Aug. 3, Superintendent Tim Dittberner stated that it is likely the school district will be starting with hybrid learning for grades 6-12 and elementary students may either be attending daily in-person or following a hybrid learning schedule. A final decision will be made by Monday, Aug. 17.

Sisters Isabelle and Gabby wanted to do something that the community could use and benefit it also, as all their proceeds are going to the New Prague Veterans Memorial. They were selling cookies as well as lemonade and hoped to raise $100. They started on Tuesday, Aug. 4, would be selling until 4 p.m. on Wednesday, and planned to be out on Thursday, Aug. 6, between 12-4 p.m.

Edward A. Mach, age 83, of New Prague, died peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center and Assisted Living.  Ed was born on November 21, 1936 in Webster Township, Rice County, Minnesota to John F.

Beverly Ann “Bev” (Thorsen) Richter, age 90, of New Prague, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center and Assisted Living.

Judy Dolezal, passed away peacefully on July 31st in Zumbrota, Minnesota at the age of 96. Michelle and Melinda Dolezal were present at their grandmother’s passing. Judy was born to Simon and Dagny (Thorson) Simonson in Campbell, Minnesota on November 19, 1923. Judy’s mother had passed soon after childbirth, of Judy, and her father remarried thereafter and Judy had five half siblings, Wallace, Margerie, Lional, Carol, and Genevieve. She graduated from Morris High School in 1942, and graduated Nursing School in 1948. She married Harry Felix Dolezal, October 16, 1944.

After an 8-year battle with Alzheimer’s and a courageous struggle with COVID-19, Judith Ellen (Klein) Larson, age 75, of New Prague, died peacefully with her beloved daughters at her side on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center and Assisted Living.  Judy was born May 5, 1945 in St.
