The Polars and Ptarmigans will meet for the 65th time Dec. 28, noon, at Memorial Park.
All New Prague Alumni are on a team. There will be a pregame meeting at Fishtale Grill starting at 9am and an awards ceremony and meal at City Club following the game.
The spirited rivalry has the Polars leading the series with an overall record of 32 wins and 19 losses against the Ptarmigans. The teams have tied 13 times.

Inez M. Kubes, age 105 years, 5 months, and 1 day, died peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Mala Strana Care and Rehabilitation Center.  Inez was born on the family farm in Lexington Township on July 21, 1919, to Henry and Elizabeth (Smisek) Holicky.  She attended District 75 country school and met her husband through relatives at a dance.  She married George G. Kubes on October 7, 1941, at St.

Alexander Glenn Mueller, age 32, of Perham, MN, passed away on December 14, 2024, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Alex was born on October 16, 1992, in Burnsville, MN, to Ken and Robin (Hammer) Mueller, and was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Prior Lake, MN. 
Alex grew up on the family hobby farm in Webster, MN. He attended high school in New Prague, MN, and later studied at Alexandria Technical College in Alexandria, MN. For 11 years, Alex worked as a machinist at Swan Machine in Perham, MN.

Carol Joan Trewartha, age 89, saw her Savior and went home to heaven on Dec. 18, 2024, at Praha Village in New Prague, MN. She was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls, WI, to Alma and Alfred Otto. She was baptized and confirmed at Central Lutheran Church. She attended Island Street School (K-4th grade), Chestnut School (5th-6th), Chippewa Jr. High (7th-9th), Chippewa Falls Sr. High (10th-12th). She was Prom Queen in her Junior Year and graduated in 1953. She played basketball and volleyball in 6AA Girls Athletics Association.

Dennis E. Schoenbauer, age 71, of Belle Plaine, formerly of New Prague, died peacefully with his family at his side, on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.  Dennis was born on March 11, 1953, in New Prague, to Eugene N. and Lorraine C. (Hartman) Schoenbauer.  He graduated from New Prague High School and met his future wife when they were both in her sister’s wedding.  Dennis and Mary K. Wagner were married on October 22, 1977, at St.

John J. Pexa, age 62, of Lakeville, died peacefully while surrounded by his family on Friday, December 13, 2024, at M. Health Fairview Hospital, Minneapolis. John was born on January 6, 1962, in New Prague, to George and Rosemary (Winter) Pexa. He graduated from New Prague High School and farmed the family farm in Prior Lake. After farming, he found a job in lawn and landscaping, with Nature’s Way Lawn Service. He was able to work outdoors, which is where he loved to be. He had a knack for being able to cut and drop the trickiest of trees.

Shivaun Marie (Burns) Allan, mother, grandmother and friend, returned to her Lord on Dec.13, 2024. She died from ovarian cancer at age 65.
 Shivaun was born July 19, 1959, to Eileen (Wolff) Burns and Edward Burns and grew up in New Prague, MN, where she graduated high school in 1977. In 1981, she earned a bachelor's degree in human services at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota.

Thomas W. Adamek, age 79, of Belle Plaine, died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, December 12, 2024.  Tom was born on March 27, 1945, in New Prague, to Alvin F. and Eleanor F. (Tikalsky) Adamek.  He graduated from New Prague High School.  He met the woman who would become his wife on a blind date, set up by his friend and classmate. Mary B. Geraldine “Gerrie” Ann (Johnson) Haferman, age 89, of Prior Lake, Minnesota, and Leesburg, Florida, passed away on November 30, 2024, while holding her devoted husband's hand as the angels came to bring her to Jesus in Heaven, where she is now at peace.

And hold you in the palm of His hand.”

Allan Alfred Neeser, age 88, of Horton, Michigan, originally of New Prague, Minnesota died at Arbor Manor in Spring Arbor Michigan on December 8, 2024.  He was born on July 25, 1936, to Leo and Grace (Voerding) Neeser in St. Cloud, Minnesota where he met and married his first wife, Marjorie Lumley in February 1958.  

Duane Franek of Prior Lake, MN, passed away peacefully at the age of 72, on November 25, 2024. Born in New Prague, MN. Duane proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and later built a successful career as an entrepreneur with his business, Franek Laser & Fab, retiring in 2024.

Jon Frederick Schilling, born on February 4, 1944, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 80, following years of complications due to COPD.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Edna Schilling (nee Sholin), and his sister, Nancy Hafermann (nee Schilling).

Frosty the snowman waves to the crowd at New Prague’s 28th Annual Holiday Parade of Lights on Main Street Friday night, Dec. 6. Frosty was one of several characters who greeted people as the parade made its way east on Main Street to Memorial Park, where there was a tree lighting, music, hot chocolate and fireworks.

Gertrude A. “Gertie” Chlan, age 88, of New Prague, died peacefully at her home with her family at her side on Thursday, December 5, 2024.  Gertie was born on March 15, 1936, on the family farm in Lanesburgh Township, Le Sueur County, to Valentine and Gertrude (Topic) Tupy.  She started out at country school, went to St. Wenceslaus Parochial School, and graduated from New Prague High School with the class of 1953.  On the weekend that Emil Chlan was discharged from the US Army, he and Gertie met at a dance at the Park Ballroom and love bloomed!  They were married at St.

Union Hill Bar & Grill owner Ryan Klein of New Prague pled guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, and admitted to crashing his vehicle shortly after leaving his bar on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 28, according to a Le Sueur County Sheriffs Office incident report and court records obtained.
