The New Prague Trojans had plenty of chances to score, but couldn't get the key hit they needed and lost to Farmington 5-0 in the Section 1AAAA softball championship game Thursday, May 30, in Austin.
The Tigers scored one in the fourth and four in the fifth. This was the third time in four years the two teams met for the Section championship, New Prague won in 2016 and Farmington in 2017.

For the third time in four seasons, New Prague and Farmington will play for the championship in Section 1AAAA softball tournament.
Farmington defeated New Prague 2-1 in eight innings Tuesday, May 29, in a winner’s bracket game to advance to the title game. The Tigers led 1-0 and the Trojans had two outs in the top of the seventh when Maggie Vivant homered to tie the game, sending it to extra innings. The tigers scored in the bottom of the eight to advances.

After going eight innings before scoring in the ninth for a 1-0 win Saturday, the New Prague Trojans didn’t waste any time getting on the board in their second round playoff game Tuesday, May 28, against Owatonna. Collin Dorzinski singled, stole second and scored on a base hit by Cade Pavek.

New Prague Trojan left-hander Luke Tupy pitched struck out 17 batters over nine innings to carry his team to a 1-0 extra-inning win over Lakeville South in the opening round of the Section 1AAAA playoffs Saturday, May 25.
Tupy allowed just two hits, both early in the game, and walked one. He had 12 strikeouts through the regulation seven innings, but the game remained scoreless after seven innings, and Tupy struck out five of six batters in the two extra innings.

The New Prague Trojan's Section 1AAAA baseball opener against Lakeville South, scheduled for Friday, May 24, has been postponed due to today's rain.
The game has been scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at Memorial Stadium in New Prague.

On Tuesday, May 14, the New Prague Trojan tennis team played just their second home playoff match in the past 10 years. Seeded fourth in Section 2AA south, they faced off against No. 5 seed Hutchinson.
“While New Prague beat Hutchinson earlier in the year, almost every match was close, and we knew it was going to be close here too,” said Coach Ben Hilding.

Sunday’s rain washed out the entire six-game schedule in the Dakota-Rice-Scott Baseball league. Games that were postponed included Elko at Lonsdale, New Prague at Veseli, Montgomery at St. Benedict, Union Hill at New Market, Shakopee at Webster and Faribault at St. Patrick. The only makeup date announced so far was New Prague at Veseli, which will be played on July 14.
Five league games were played last week, with Elko, Prior Lake, New Prague, New Market, Faribault and St. Patrick getting wins. New Market remains atop the league standing with a 6-0 record.

After a two-day delay due to rain, the New Prague Trojan softball team won two games Thursday, May 23, to remain unbeaten in the Section 1AAAA softball tournament.
in the first game, Mia Kraimer had a three-run home run and Kennedy Buckman had two home runs as New Prague defeated Owatonna 13-1 in five innings.

New Prague jumped to a 10-2 lead and went on to defeat host Buffalo 16-7 to earn a spot in the MSHSL CI Adapted Softball Tournament.
The tournament will be held Friday and Saturday, May 31 and June 1, at Chanhassen High School. This is the sixth time the Trojans have advanced to the state tournament. They went four years, from 2008 through 2011, and again last year.
The team includes athletes from New Prague, Tri-City United, Belle Plaine and Jordan schools.

The New Prague Trojan baseball team will begin the Section 1AAAA playoffs at 5 p.m. Friday, May 24, when they host Lakeville South at Memorial Stadium.
New Prague received the No. 3 seed and South is the No. 6 seed in the eight-team double-elimination tournament.
The Trojans completed their regular season Tuesday with a 6-3 loss to Orono.
Rochester Century, Farmington, New Prague and Lakeville North received the top four seeds and will host first round games.

The schedule has been reset for a second time for the Section 1AAAA softball playoffs.
After games were postponed Tuesday and Wednesday for the first round, officials announced Wednesday afternoon that first AND second round games will be played Thursday, May 23, at Todd Park in Austin, with games at 4 and 6 p.m. Third round games will be played Friday, also in Austin. The tournament will resume Tuesday, May 28, as originally scheduled.

New Prague High School’s Mia Kraimer slugged three home runs in a 16-1 rout over Delano Thursday, May 16.
, Kraimer had home runs in the first, third and fourth innings, along with a single. She had six RBIs. Teammates Mariah Marek and Rachel Russo also homered.
Kraimer was the winning pitcher.

After two weeks of play, only three teams - New Market, St. Patrick and Veseli, are undefeated in the Dakota-Rice-Scott League.
New Market defeated Webster and Prior Lake to go to 3-0, while St. Patrick topped Shakopee and Veseli defeated New Prague. Elko - which plays a partial league schedule - is at 1-0 after defeating Montgomery in its league opener.
The season gets into full swing this week, as 13 games are scheduled over the next seven days.

The New Prague Trojan adapted softball team split a pair of games last week, defeating South Suburban 11-7 and losing to Burnsville/Farmington/Lake ville 9-6.
The team, which includes athletes from New Prague, Tri-City United, Belle Plaine and Jordan schools, was scheduled to play at Minneapolis Tuesday and will host White Bear Lake in its final home game Thursday, May 9. New Prague is on the road for its final two games of the season, at Dakota United in Rosemount Tuesday, May 14, and facing Chaska/Chanahsssen/Prior Lake/Shakopee at Prior Lake Thursday, May 16.

The Trojan boys track team competed at the Orono Invitational Thursday, May 2, placing fifth of eight teams.

The New Prague Trojan JV girls lacrosse team continued its winning ways, defeating Holy Family, Cretin-Derham Hall and Proctor/Hermantown last week, all on the road. 
            The Trojans faced Mankato Tuesday, May 7. On Friday, May 10, they play Minneapolis at Parade Stadium, and on Saturday, May 11, they host Proctor/Hermantown at 1 p.m. at Trojan Stadium, in their final home game of the season. New Prague plays at Eden Prairie on Thursday, May 16.
