Rosemary Tuma (Ruzicka), age 88 of Lonsdale, MN passed away peacefully with family at her side on January 9, 2024. Rosemary was born on April 16, 1935, on the family farm in Wheatland Township to Frank and Anna (Flicek) Ruzicka. Rosie grew up in Veseli, attending country school and graduating from New Prague High School. Rosie met her husband of 53 years at a dance at Herrmann’s Hall in Lonsdale, they were married on June 24, 1954, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Veseli. She enjoyed playing cards, fishing, dancing, going to the casino and visiting northern Minnesota. She was a talented cook and baker, she worked for many schools cooking.
Rosie is preceded in death by her husband, Fritz; parents, sisters, Shirley (George) Plekkenpol, and Ann (Jerome) Eischens, and sister-in-law, Judy Ruzicka.
Rosie is survived by children, David, Karen (Wayne) Ganzhorn, Dale, and Tom (Sue) Tuma; grandchildren, Derek, Briana, Dylan, and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Francis, and John Henry; brother, Francis Ruzicka, also by other loving relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 15, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Veseli, MN with a gathering of family and friends starting at 9:30 a.m. Interment, Fort Snelling National Cemetery, at a later date. All are invited to a lunch at the American Legion in Lonsdale directly after Mass.
