Neil G. Wolf, age 67, of New Prague, died unexpectedly of natural causes at his home on Monday, April 27, 2020. Neil was born on November 4, 1952 in New Prague to George W. and Delaine D.
Tony John Tikalsky, age 52, of Waconia, MN, formerly of Chaska, MN, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at Nagel Assisted Living in Waconia.

Tony was born October 11, 1967 in Shakopee, MN, to Richard and Amy (Hoaglund) Tikalsky. He was one of three children. He graduated from Chaska High School in 1986. He was employed as a brick mason his entire life and worked for multiple companies as a brick mason.
Tony James, age 56 of River Falls, WI. passed away peacefully at his home on April 12, 2020 from complications of ALS.
Tony is the son of Tom James and his wife Donna, New Prague and Margie Shinehouse, Medina.
Tony graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1981 and Mankato State College in 1985 with a degree in business. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved the great outdoors so much, he started his own landscape business, James Landscaping.
Ruth E. Giesen, age 69, of New Prague, died peacefully Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Mayo Clinc Health System Hospital Mankato.
Ruth was born on June 25, 1950 in New Prague to Arthur and Eleanor (Moriarity) Siemon. She graduated from New Prague High School and attained her LPN degree from Miller Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for multiple health care facilities and home health care. Ruth married the love of her life, Donald J. Giesen on September 27, 1969 at St. John Catholic Church in Union Hill.
George Johan Maat, age 93, of Kilkenny, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, April 21, 2020.
George was born in the The Hague, Netherlands on June 23, 1926 to George Johannes Adreanse and Johanna Wilhelmina (Delnaay) Maat. George worked as a mechanical engineer in Holland designing dikes.
Frank Huber, 86, of Montgomery, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020, peacefully at the Northfield Hospital from a complication of pneumonia. Services and interment will be at a later date.
Frank was born in Waconia on March 6, 1934, to Oliver and Louise (Soller) Huber. He graduated from Montgomery High School in 1952, went to St. John’s University and then to Dunwoody to take up TV and Electronics.
He was united in marriage to Ruth Nickolay at St. Wenceslaus Church in New Prague on April 26, 1960, and passed away just short of their 60th anniversary.
Thomas Edward Flicek, age 72 of Prior Lake, MN, passed away April 21, 2020.
Private family services will be held. Friends and family will be invited to a public burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Cards can be mailed to Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 104 West First Street, Jordan, MN 55352. Memorials are preferred and will be distributed in Tom’s memory by the family.
Francis (Fritz) Barta, 91, died on April 20th, 2020 at Central Health Care in Le Center, Minnesota, his family at his side.
He was born on September 27th, 1928 to Frank and Mary Barta (Malecha) on their family farm East of Lonsdale, MN; attending and graduating from school there as well.

Susan M. Kurkowski, 75, of New Prague, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2020, in Jordan, surrounded by family.
Susan was born to Alvie and Claudia (Opsahl) Olson on July 20, 1944, in Barnesville, Minnesota. She grew up on the family farm and then moved to Minneapolis with her family in her teens.
Susan enjoyed going to the casino, watching cooking shows, puzzles, gardening, shopping for antiques, but enjoyed spending time with her family the most. Her love of Elvis Presley's music even enticed her to visit Graceland on two occasions.
Lois E. Ivan, age 75, of New Prague, died suddenly on Saturday, April 11, 2020, at Mala Strana Care and Rehabilitation Center. Lois was born on November 13, 1944 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey to Louis and Elizabeth (Egnotyak) Ivan. Lois attended School #9 and was an assembly worker, living most of her life in New Jersey, until relocating to New Prague, Minnesota, in September 2011 with her sister and nephew. Lois was a fan of the arts. She enjoyed painting ceramics and paint-by-number. She loved embroidery and reading novels.
With his family at his side on April 9, 2020, John A. Halloran (age 95) died peacefully in the house he built on his farm in Belle Plaine Township. Due to the restrictions with the COVID~19 Virus, services will be private.
John was born to John P. and Grace (Schoell) Halloran on October 20, 1924 in Belle Plaine. He attended Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Grade School in Belle Plaine and New Prague High School, from which he graduated in 1942. After a farm deferment, he was drafted in Spring 1945 and served his country in Japan as an MP in the Occupation Forces.
Robert W. Vosejpka, age 81 of Owatonna, MN, formerly of rural Lonsdale died peacefully on March 31, 2020 at The Emeralds in Faribault, MN.
Robert was born May 6, 1938 in Forest Township, rural Lonsdale, MN to Frank A. and Rose (Barta) Vosejpka. He was the youngest of 4 children. He attended country school through 8th grade and later graduated from Northfield High School.
Patrick M. O’Malley, age 67, of New Prague, passed away unexpectedly on April 7, 2020 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Pat was born on November 14, 1952 in New Prague. He was the son of Elzear and Edna (Kennedy) O’Malley of Le Center. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and graduated from Le Center High School in 1970. After high school, he enlisted in the Navy. Pat married the love of his life, Bonnie Bastyr in 1982. They have one daughter, Kasey O’Malley. Pat worked on road construction for Progressive Contractors Inc. for 40 years.
Amanda D. Lake, age 27, of Mankato, died suddenly in her sleep, on Sunday, April 5, 2020. Amanda was born in Minneapolis, MN on July 27, 1992 to Daniel A.. and Doreen K. (Hanson) Lake. She grew up in New Prague and graduated from New Prague High School.
As she was in everything she did, Amanda was a joyful worker at Mankato Rehabilitation Center, Inc. (MRCI). She had an infectious zest for life; she exuded happiness and made friends wherever she went. She was an avid sports fan and loved all Minnesota teams, the Twins, Vikings, and the Wild.
Tuma, DeWayne Lee, of Crystal, passed away peacefully of stroke related complications while in hospice care at North Memorial Hospital Robbinsdale on March 21st, at the age of 81. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Deanna (Rotter); parents Thomas and Mathilda (Schlauderaff); sister Genevieve Nelson and brother in-law Curtis Nelson; brother Lloyd Tuma and sister-in-law Shirley (Johnson); sister Ardelle Tuma. He is survived by his daughters Susan (Dennis) Paulson and Michelle Tuma; beloved granddaughter Alexa Paulson; nieces and nephews.
