Prime weather, great field activities, and a strong feature were just a few of the highlights that helped to make the 46th annual Pioneer Power Show a success, according to Bill Thelemann.
Thelemann, the president of the Le Sueur Pioneer Power Show, said that this year’s attendance on Saturday was close to record breaking for single day attendance.
“The crowd was unbelievable,” he said. “It makes me feel good to see that. I’m very thankful for the people that came to see our show.”
Pioneer Power did not start out with the large crowds in the beginning like it draws today. In fact, Thelemann said that in the beginning there was a crowd of 30 people. That grew to 60 in the following year. From there the crowd has continued to grow to what it is today, which is well into the thousands.
“We’ve never stopped expanding and growing,” he said.
This year there were close to 400 tractors, more than 200 gas engines and a large variety of other farm implements on display throughout the close to 130 acre show grounds.
The feature tractor included Hart-Parr, Cletrac and Oliver.
During the Parade of Equipment, a daily feature at Pioneer Power, these tractors along with the other makes and models of tractors and engines were announced by volunteer Dave Morrison.
