Robert L. Srnec, age 89, of Lonsdale, passed away on October 3, 2026. Robert was a dedicated and hardworking man who spent 41 years working for Green Giant, Pillsbury, and Seneca. Farming was also an important part of his life, as he farmed for nearly his entire lifetime and sold Gold Country Seed for many years. Robert truly enjoyed visiting with family and friends and was always happy to share a good conversation. In his free time, he enjoyed dancing, listening to KCHK radio, playing euchre, and hunting. Above all, he treasured the time spent with the people who were important to him.
Robert is survived by his wife of 67 years, Rita; children, Becky (Tim) Arens, Richard (Cindy) Srnec, James (Anne) Srnec, Joyce Srnec (friend - Brian Kotek), and Rob Srnec; grandchildren, Joe, Keith, Melissa, and Jonathan; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Emma Rose, Oaklyn, Vanessa, and Nora Rose; also by other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Albina Srnec; brother, Milo; and sister-in-law, Lollie.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2026, at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 206 Vine Ave. W., Montgomery, MN 56069. Visitation will be held from 9:30–11:00 a.m. prior to the Mass at church. Interment will follow at Bohemian National Cemetery in Montgomery.
