Betty Ann Ziskovsky, age 92, of Veseli, died peacefully on October 2, 2026, at Mala Strana in New Prague, Minnesota.
Betty was born on January 8, 1934, to John and Bessie (Trcka) Flicek on the family farm near Cody Lake in Wheatland Township. She grew up on the rural family farm and attended country school.
Betty met the love of her life, Joseph Ziskovsky, at a dance at Hermann’s Hall in Lonsdale. Shortly after, Joe and Betty were married on October 7, 1952, in Lonsdale. Together, they raised four children while working on the family farm. Betty took great pride in her flowers and garden and enjoyed the beauty they brought to her home.
Throughout her life, Betty worked various jobs, but housekeeping for others was something she especially enjoyed and took great pride in. She loved all holidays, with Christmas holding a special place in her heart.
During her time at Mala Strana, Betty could often be found working in her word books or coloring. She enjoyed participating in the many activities offered there, especially Bingo. Betty will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Betty is survived by her children, Richard (Shirley), Arnold (Deborah), and Susan (Gib) Sticha; daughter-in-law, Kris; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; sisters, Evelyn Bartusek and Donna (Ron) Dols; and many other loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Joseph; parents, John and Bessie Flicek; stepfather, George Trcka; son, Gerald; triplet grandchildren at birth; a great-grandchild at birth; sisters, Lorraine Adamek, Georgina Barta, and Lillian Havlicek; and brother, Elmer A. Flicek.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 4939 Washington Street, Veseli, MN 55046. Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Veseli. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
