Area runners show well at Grandma’s Marathon, Bjorklund half-marathon

Runners from New Prague and the area were well represented at Grandma’s Marathon and the Gary Bjorklund Half-Marathon earlier this month.
New Prague’s Garren Hamby, 43, finished the Grandma’s Marathon between Two Harbors and Duluth in 3 Hours, 20 minutes, 43 seconds. He finished 1,308 of 6,689 marathon runners.
Brianna Meyer, 25, finished in 3:49.02. She finished 2,038th of 6,689 runners who started the race. Garrett Ykema, 39, finished the marathon in 4:18.13. He was 3,722nd across the finish line. Katelyn Chromy, 22, finished the 26.2- mile run in 4:24.54. She finished 4,018th among the 6,689 runners and was the 1,377th of 2,743 women across the finish line.
From Montgomery, Terri Peterson, 35, finished in 4:01.36. Peterson finished 3,052nd of 6,689.
Elko New Market’s Katie Kleiner crossed the finish line in 3:36.04 – good for 1,887th overall. Troy Hanson, 43, finished in 3:54.10. Hanson finished 2,694th out of 6,689 runners. Cesar J. Rodriguez, 33, finished in 5:56.31. He finished 6,304 overall. Josh Wichner finished in 6:07.42.
Lonsdale’s Samuel Barnack, 22, finished in 3:36.30 – good for 2,303rd place.
Gary Bjorklund Half Marathon New Prague’s Bridget Ellanson, 26, posted the best time of the local runners. She finished the half marathon from Greenwood Road along Minnesota’s north shore into Duluth in 2:06.30. She finished 3,251st of the 7,485 runners in the 13.1-mile race.
