Dr. Michael (Mike) Kilpatrick, 66

Dr. Michael (Mike) Kilpatrick, age 66. Dr. Mike went peacefully from the loving arms of his family into the arms of Jesus on December 10, 2021. Dr. Mike was a wonderful husband to Diana for 42 years, a terrific father to Michael (Renee), Jimmy, Jenna (Andy) and his fur pup Carly, and an amazing Papa to Declan and Silya. Also survived by many loving relatives and friends.
Preceded to glory by his parents, John and Jackie Kilpatrick, his sister, Mary Kilpatrick and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edwin and Gay Newinski.
He was a sole practitioner in chiropractic care for 40 years, sharing his healing hands and compassion with each and everyone whom he treated. He worked actively within the New Prague Community as a member of the Knights of Columbus and the New Prague Rotary Club. Dr. Mike was a strong advocate for enhancing the opportunities of students and athletes through his work on the school board, as director of fundraising to bring the New Prague Community Center to fruition and then on the NPACC board. He was an excellent teacher and hockey coach, becoming a student of the game to instill characteristics into each hockey player of striving to give 100% and the importance of teamwork.
Dr. Mike was a notorious jokester and comedian. His dry wit and humor always brought about belly laughs to those around him. Dr. Mike had a way of making friends wherever he went with his outgoing personality and his open and reassuring nature. He enjoyed travelling around Canada, Europe and the US, with Hawaii holding a uniquely special place in his heart.
Funeral Mass will be Monday December 20, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Church, 215 Main St. E. New Prague, MN 56071. Mass will also be live streamed through the church website, npcatholic.org. Visitation will be held Sunday December 19, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. at Huber Funeral Chapel, 16394 Glory Ln Eden Prairie, MN 55344 and at church 1 hour prior to service. Interment at Lakewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family will be making a contribution to the Gift of Life Transplant House in remembrance of Dr. Mike. The Gift of Life Transplant House holds a special place in our hearts as they were part of the instrumental process in his kidney transplant.
