The St. Wenceslaus Catholic School’s All-You-Can-Eat Fish Fry on Friday, March 11, had a good catch in attendance as volunteers served 1,600 meals. Volunteers helping cook the fish, cheesy potatoes and preparing the meals were kept busy. The evening meal had crowds lined up down the hall of one part of the Parish Activity Center (PAC) to get into the PAC’s gym. While many prepaid there were those who waited to pay at the door.
There were two times people could attend the fish fry, at lunch between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the dinner from 4:30-7 p.m. The meal included fried fish, cheesy potatoes, cole slaw, dinner roll, cookie and a beverage. The dinner was dine-in or curbside with people lining up their vehicles along Columbus Avenue and getting their meals delivered to their cars from the east side doors of the PAC.
“I love it,” said Hadley Bailey with a big grin about the meal. She was at the dinner with her mom Stacy Bailey and her two siblings. Little Bailey’s statement about the meal was likely shared by many.
