New Prague area residents will have three chances to see New Prague High School’s one-act play, “Middle School Dating Game,” all at the high school auditorium. The first performance is Saturday, Jan. 20, then Friday, Jan. 26, and Saturday, Jan. 27. The performances are free and open to the public.
This Saturday’s performance of the comedy is part of the Metro West Conference One-Act Festival. New Prague will host the festival. The first of five performances of the festival is scheduled to start at 8 a.m. Participating schools are Bloomington Jefferson, Chanhassen, Chaska, New Prague and Orono. An awards ceremony is scheduled to be held at 1 p.m.
The Jan. 26 staging is a public performance at 7:30 p.m. The young New Prague actors will follow up with subsection competition Saturday, Jan. 27, at the high school auditorium, beginning at 9 a.m. The school placing first Jan. 27 advances to section competition Saturday, Feb. 3, in Minnetonka. State competition is Thursday and Friday, Feb. 8 and 9 at O’Shoughnessy Auditorium at St. Catherine University in St. Paul.
