N.P. American Legion helping people in need get around

Carole Entinger had a need she couldn’t easily meet and feared it would cost her the opportunity to participate in one of her favorite activities. Thanks to New Prague American Legion Post 45, the local woman’s problems are behind her.
Entinger enjoys participating in a crocheting group that meets weekly at the New Prague Area Schools Community Education building. Participants in the class oftentimes make hats, mittens and scarves for people in need. The building has regulations on which restrooms the adults can use during the school day, a regulation requiring Entinger to walk a significant distance. To many of the participants in the group, the walk is no problem.
For Entinger, it’s a big problem. At 78, she suffers from spinal stenosis and osteoporosis. The conditions make a simple walk down the hallway to use a restroom anything but easy. Spinal stenosis happens when the space inside the backbone is too small. This can put...
