The Elko New Market City Council’s consensus at its Thursday, May 27, meeting was to move forward with a Tax Increment Financing (TIF) for a proposed 88-unit multi-family housing project for Dakota Acres, which is located on the northwest side of the city.
Community Development Specialist Renee Christianson and City Planner Haley Sevening presented the proposal. They explained that Global Properties, LLC had a preliminary and final plat for a conditional use permit (CUP) on Dakota Acres Second Addition approved by the city council on November 21, 2019, and since then they were granted an extension lasting until November 21, 2021. The original concept plan for the site was for two apartment buildings with a total of 68-units on 3.19 acres. That has changed to a single building with a total of 88-units.
