Dance the night away Event will bring women, girls together

They hope any woman or girl in the community who wants to attend the event will be there. Sarah Kallal of New Prague and her friends are planning an event they hope will build a strong, uniting bond and help strengthen the sense of community.
The event will include a disc jockey, Saturday, Nov. 4, 7 p.m.to midnight, at the Park Ballroom. It is planned as a Barbie™ party, an event patterned after the movie, to empower females to be the best they can be, Kallal said. It is open to women, moms and their daughters and adults staying at the party supervising girls under age 16. Girls and women attending are encouraged to bring friendship bracelets for trading.
There is no cost to attend, although a $5 donation to girlsinc.org is suggested. “It is to celebrate the bond between us. I wanted to throw a party to appreciate how wonderful girls and women are,” Kallal said. “This is a time when we can all let loose, free of judgement.”
Kallal and her friends hope the event will play a small role in developing girls and women into strong, brave and smart women found in popular culture – like Beyonce, Taylor Swift and characters in the Barbie™ movie. The different Barbie™ characters show a girl can be what she wants to be.
