St. Patrick’s Trevor Divinski and Ryan Friedges combined for a shutout win over the Orioles Wednesday, June 28, in New Prague.
The Irish jumped to a 2-0 lead in the opening frame and held New Prague scoreless. St. Patrick added another three runs in the seventh inning. Ben Taxdahl led the Irish offense with a two-run home run while Joe Weiers drove in two RBIs.
Orioles’ hitters Gavin Bergman and James Fuerniss both had two hits. Fuerniss started the game for the Orioles and pitched seven strong innings against a powerful Irish lineup. Brody Isely came in and finished the last two innings giving up no hits and striking out three St. Patrick sluggers.

Faribault 7, Veseli 3 The Lakers jumped to a 5-0 lead and then held off the Warriors in the Friday, June 30, clash at Veseli. Faribault scored three times in the first inning and twice more in the fourth before the Warriors countered with two runs in the home half of the fourth frame. Veseli cut the Lakers’ lead to 5-3 with a run in the fifth inning, but Faribault iced the game with two insurance tallies in the sixth. Veseli’s Noah Washa, Riley Schaeffer and Nick Geis drove in the Warriors’ runs. Eddie Sirek had a hit and scored a run for Veseli. Washa had three hits and scored a run. Schaeffer had two hits and scored a run for Veseli. As a team, the Warriors had 10 hits and their hitters walked seven times. The Warriors were hurt by errors. They allowed three unearned runs on two errors.
St. Patrick 7, New Market 6 St. Patrick scored in clumps early in the June 29 tilt until scoring the game-winner in the top of the eighth inning. New Market came out of the gate with three runs in the home half of the first inning to claim a 3-2 leadThe Muskies added two more runs in the second and a final run in the third inning. The visiting Irish countered with two runs in the first, two runs in the third and two more runs in the fifth. Ben Taxdahl’s home run in the eighth inning was the game-winner. Jack Friedges and Kal Brohmer each had three hits and scored three runs for the Irish. Jack Friedges also hit a home run. Ryan Friedges had two RBIs in the win. Prior Lake 11, New Prague 1 The Orioles kept it close for most of the game but the Mudcats broke it open in the seventh inning. Dan Ring and James Fuerniss both had a pair of hits for the Orioles. Eric Wagner drove in Sam Baker for New Prague’s lone RBI. For the Mudcats, Alex Watterman and Johnny Huston had home runs. Ryan Watterman was the winning pitcher and Jayce Luna took the loss for the O’s.

St. Benedict 4, Montgomery 1 The Saints came up with three runs in the 10th inning of the June 29 win to claim the victory over the host Mallards. The Saints took advantage of Montgomery miscues. Cole Minnick and Joe Pesta had RBIs for the Saints in the win. Two of St. Benedict’s runs were unearned. Four Saints’ pitchers – Mathias Duevel, Tyler Hughes, Cole Minnick and Matthew Morenson combined for the win. They collectively scattered eight hits. Morenson struck out three Ducks and Minnick put down two on strikeouts. Patrick Huisman, Mitchell Martin and Derek Albers paced St. Benedict with two hits each. Minnick and Jonathan Huss also had a hit apiece. Montgomery’s Pat Lloyd led his team’s offense with two hits. Ryan Iverson, Max Krautkremer and Dawson Pint also had hits for Montgomery. Pint scored the team’s lone run, an unearned tally.
