According to information from the Rice County Sheriff’s office, Sergeant Justin Timothy Hunt, age 40, of Faribault died in his sleep while on vacation with his family. His obituary states he passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 23 in Arthur, WI, following a sudden illness.
The following was posted on the Rice County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page: “Justin has been with the Rice County Sheriff’s Office for 4 ½ years. He has also served with the Faribault Police Department, Lonsdale Police Department as well as a Correctional Officer with the RCSO with nearly 20 years of service. He served on the South Metro and SCDIU Swat teams and has played an significant role in public safety in Rice County and around the region for many years. He will be sorely missed.”
Hunt is survived by his wife, Maggie, and their daughters, Kaitlyn and Lauren.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Hunt was held Wednesday, June 30.
