A two-vehicle crash called into Le Sueur County Sheriff’s dispatch at 5:59 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 26, at the intersection of Le Sueur County Roads 3 and 28 ends in minor injuries.
According to the incident report from the Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office, a white 2014 Chevy Silverado traveling westbound on County 28, driven by 20-year-old Addison Hartshorn of New Prague, was struck on the passenger side by a red 2017 Ford Escape, driven by 20-year-old Maxim Lee of New Prague.
Lee’s Escape ended up in the ditch southwest of the intersection with heavy front end damage, and Hartshorn’s Silverado ended up breaking through a horse fence southwest of the intersection and sat within the horse pasture with passenger side and overall damage, according to the incident report.
It was said in the report that Lee was trapped inside his Escape and was extricated from the vehicle with only minor injuries. Lee was transported via North Ambulance to be evaluated at Mayo Clinic Health Systems Hospital in New Prague. Hartshorn is noted as saying she had no injuries but her boyfriend would transport her to the hospital in New Prague as well.
Sheriff Deputy Brennen Vollmer says in the report, “It should be noted that there was extremely reduced visibility due to thick fog at the time of the crash.”
