Veteran’s Day is Saturday, Nov. 11, but Montgomery will be honoring their veterans on Friday, Nov. 10 this year.
The first event is a public veteran’s mass at Most Holy Redeemer Church at 8:30 a.m. Following the service, guests will be treated to coffee and rolls, and VFW Post 5340 and Auxiliary will present awards to the top three Most Holy Redeemer School winners in the VFW Patriot’s Pen Contest.
At 10 a.m., Tri-City United (TCU) Montgomery Middle and Elementary School will host a veteran’s program for veterans and their families in the gymnasium. VFW Post 5340 member and retired U.S.Army Colonel Keith Barta willspeak during this program. There will be singing, student speakers and the Color Guard will present. The top three winners in the Patriot’s Pen Contest in the TCU Middle School will also be announced.
Veterans and their significant others will be served a lunch at 11:40 a.m. at TCU High School in the media center. A...
