City announces Montgomery Music in the Park series

The City of Montgomery and the Park and Recreation Advisory Board announced this year’s lineup for the Montgomery Music in the Park series.
Two performances will be held in June and August, and one will be held in July. Music starts at 7 p.m. Food and treats will be available!
Thursday, June 10 Mary Guentzel Quintet This group performs the great standards from the 30s and 40s, along with select favorites from more recent decades.
Thursday, June 24 Chuck Thiel and the Jolly Ramblers The Jolly Ramblers feature a wide variety of musical styles from German/Czech old-time, to modern and swing, to 50’s, country, and country-rock.
Thursday, July 8 Little Chicago Little Chicago is a cover band for hits of the 1960s and 1970s. The horn band plays pop/rock music, with a smattering of country. It features hits by such famous groups as Chicago, Blood, Sweat & Tears, The Grass Roots, the Union Gap, Dusty Springfield, and more.
Thursday, Aug. 12 Schell’s Hobo Band Back by popular request! The band was inducted in the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame in 1995. Their exciting program is sure to be a hit!
Thursday, Aug. 26 Back Up and Push Formed out of band members overlapping love of Kenny Baker fiddle tunes, Jim and Jesse vocal harmonies, Stanley and Scruggs banjo licks, and a healthy skepticism of guitar breaks, Back Up & Push takes traditional bluegrass seriously so you don’t have to.
In case of inclement weather the concerts will be at the Montgomery American Legion Post #79.
