Margaret A. “Maggie” Knight, 92

Margaret A. “Maggie” Knight, age 92, of New Prague, died peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday, June 15, 2021.  Maggie was born on January 2, 1929 in Walhalla, North Dakota, to Felix Arthur and Stella (Halloran) Gastonguay.  She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Fargo and attended Minneapolis School of Business and attained a degree in Interior Design.  She married Kenneth Knight, Jr. on January 24, 1949 at the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis and spent the majority of her life raising five children in Bloomington.  Maggie’s greatest accomplishment was as a mother and homemaker but she also worked as an office interior designer.  She had an avid interest in genealogy and history and fed that interest through her membership in the Bloomington Historical Society.  She also enjoyed gardening.

 Maggie is survived by her children, Kathryn (Roger) Ordal of Madisonville, KY, Margaret “Peggy” (Bill) Nelson of New Prague, Barbara (David) Buchholz of Denver, CO, Kenneth Knight, III (Jean Ross) of Minneapolis, Arthur (Stephanie) Knight of Elko New Market; grandchildren, Greg & Chris Ordal, Billy, Peter, Katie, & Mary Grace Nelson, Matthew, Luke, & Marie Beane, Joseph & Sarah Knight.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Knight on April 29, 1976; parents; brothers, James & Owen Gasonguay.

 Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 21, 2021 at 9:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Eugene Theisen officiating.  Visitation will be held at church from 8 – 9 AM.  Burial will follow Mass at Ft.
