Leonard M. Mader, 68
Leonard M. Mader, age 68, of New Prague, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 14, 2022, after a very brief time at Mayo Service Health System Hospital Rochester, St. Mary Campus. Leonard was born on November 30, 1953 in St. Peter, MN to Leonard J. and Rosemary (Speikers) Mader. He graduated from Le Center High School and then worked as a welder for 36 years. He was gifted and unique in his trade in that he could weld anything whether metal or plastic.
Leonard carried that gift into everything he did, tinkering on anything that moved or could be fixed. He enjoyed motorcycles, shooting, and fishing in his spare time. He had a ready smile and was a one-of-a-kind dad, papa, and great-papa, enjoying nothing more than time with his family – and nobody else! At times he may have had a gruff appearance but was a teddy bear at heart and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Leonard is survived by his daughter, JoAnn Chambs (& Chuck) of Belview, MN; son, John (Jessica) Mader of Stanton, MN; grandchildren, Rosemary, Riley, Elysia, Tymothy, Orion, Amanda, Andrew; great-grandchildren, Ace, Tanner, Mara, Katie; sisters, Lucille Meger of New Prague, Gloria (Greg) Duffy of Bloomington, Ruth Johnson of Cleveland; brother-in-law, Roger Lee of Washington; & “special friend”, Roy Richardson of northern Minnesota. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Lee.
A visitation will be held Friday, March 18, 2022 from 3-7 pm at Bruzek Funeral Home with a short prayer service to close at 7:00 PM. bruzekfuneralhome.com
