Chenelle Susan Johnson, 51

Chenelle Susan Johnson, of Hanover, was born December 4, 1973, in Caledonia, MN. Chenelle Susan Johnson passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025, at the age of 51, after a courageous year-long battle with leukemia.

A graduate of New Prague High School, Chenelle was active in softball, tennis, and golf - passions that continued throughout her life. She furthered her education at Dakota County Technical College, studying interior design and sales.

On October 5, 2001, Chenelle married Fred Johnson in a beautiful Hawaiian ceremony. Their life together was rich with family, travel, and community. Being a mom to Weiland and Heidi became a central focus, and she dedicated herself to raising them with love and intention. Later, she returned to interior design, specializing in kitchen and bath at Century College.

Chenelle was immensely proud of Weiland and Heidi, supporting their academic and athletic pursuits, as well as college plans and ambitions.

A true lover of life and the outdoors, Chenelle was an avid tennis and golf player. Whether water skiing, wake surfing, or skiing in the West, she embraced staying active and seeking new adventures.

Chenelle is survived by husband Fred Johnson, children Weiland and Heidi, parents Truman and Brenda Tollefsrud, sisters Chaundra (Pat Weinman) Wilson and Charla (Luke) Jensrud, nephews Cooper and Connor, niece Chayna, and loving extended family and dear friends from Minnesota, Iowa and Tennessee. Preceded in death by brother Chayne Tollefsrud and brother-in-law Christian Wilson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Church of the Open Door, 9060 Zanzibar Ln. N., Maple Grove, on Saturday, May 31 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior.
