Armella A. Hartman Hinderscheit, 95

Armella A. Hartman Hinderscheit, age 95, of Montgomery, formerly of New Prague, died peacefully with her family at her side, on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Traditions of Montgomery.  Armella was born on August 20, 1926 in St. Bernard, Nebraska to Anton and Christina (Niebur) Dohmen.  She grew up in St. Bernard and graduated from Cedar Rapids (Nebraska) High School.  After her graduation, the family moved to Minnesota, where Armella found love.  She married Virgil Hartman and the couple raised nine children.  Virgil's death in 1966 brought heartache but she would find love again and married Paul Hinderscheit in 1969.  No stranger to heartache, Armella would also have to bury two sons in her lifetime.  She was a fantastic homemaker but also found time to work for Dr. Sladek's dental office for a number of years and then in the housekeeping department at Mala Strana.

Armella loved embroidering dish towels and pillow cases and making quilts.  She was always ready for a good game of cards, especially Canasta.  She had two fabulous gardens, the fruits of which saw her busy canning.  Her children could smell her famous chocolate chip cookies or cinnamon rolls as they came up the driveway from the school bus.  She made time for and loved everyone no matter how busy her day was.  Her grandchildren were her lifeblood and nothing meant more to her than the family gatherings of her very large family.  She had an amazing memory and knew all of the birthdays in her immediate relationship numbering 130!  Her beautiful smile and her gentle and kind presence will be missed by all.

Armella is survived by her children, Margaret Hartman of Shakopee, William (Amy) Hartman of Mainesburg, PA, Carol Dvorak (Ronald Ruhland) of Bloomington, Leo (Kimberly) Hartman of Mountain Home, ID, Charles (Ann) Hartman of New Prague, Arlene (LeRoy) Hinderscheid of New Prague, Pauline (David) Maus of New Prague; daughters-in-law, Juanita Hartman of Hampton, VA & Karen Hartman of Apple Valley; sister, Marilyn Odenthal of Arlington; sisters-in-law, Marion Dohmen of Missouri & Dorothy Dohmen of Montgomery; 47 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by husband, Virgil Hartman, 2/18/1966 & Paul Hinderscheit 1/9/1996; sons, Edward & David Hartman; grandchildren, Laura Maus & Anthony Hartman; brothers, Raymond, Robert, Denny, Albin, & Mike Dohmen; sisters, Rita Wiley, Claretta Schmitz, & Jane Schmitz.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Eugene Theisen officiating.  Mass will be live-streamed on npcatholic.org.  Visitation will take place Tuesday morning from 8-10:30 at Bruzek Funeral Home.  Burial will follow Mass at St. Benedict Cemetery after which lunch will be held at the KC Hall.  bruzekfuneralhome.com
