TCU ties for third in Titan Invitational
The Tri City United volleyball team finished up a busy week by tying for third place in the eight-team Titan Invitational held Saturday in Montgomery.
The Titans played five total matches during the week. They defeated by Sibley East in five sets Tuesday, Sept. 27 by scores of 25-17, 25-23, 25-21, 25-15, and 15-8. Thursday, Sept. 29 the Titans swept Le Sueur Henderson in their annual “Pink Out” where the packed crowd was there is support of senior middle blocker Kaia Krocak’s family.
In Saturday’s tournament, TCU defeated Lake CrystalWellcome Memorial (25-23, 24-25, 5-3), and JWP (20- 25, 25-14) in pool play. This gave the Titans the No. 2 seed in Pool A and advanced them into the Championship Bracket. Glencoe-Silver Lake edged TCU (25-17, 21-25, 15-4) ending the local teams afternoon. GSL downed Kenyon-Wanamingo (25-23, 25-21) in the championship match.
