TCU Robotics compete at Benton County Fair

Even though school is out for the summer, members of the TCU Robotics Club have been hard at work building, programming and driving their robots.

The most recent competition was a three-day tournament at the Benton County Fair in Sauk Rapids. Club Advisor John Head said the event was special since it was the first event in the world for the 2021-22 season.

He said because of this, all the robots were quite unique in their designs, and there weren’t really predetermined tactics in game strategies.

TCU brought two teams, Gear Train, and Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots, to the tournament of 29 teams.

Gear Train scored a 4-6-0 for Rank of 18, and Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots ended with 5-3-2 and a Rank of nine. Head said both teams went into the...
