WEM advances 10 to State Track & Field meet
Ten members of the WEM track and field teams will compete in the 2018 Class A State Track and Field Meet this weekend at Hamline. Ten Buccaneer athletes will compete in the 2018 Class A State Track and Field Meet Friday and Saturday, June 8 and 9 at Hamline University. All 10 qualified Saturday, June 2 at the Section 2A Meet at Mankato West. The State entrants include seniors Chris Byrne and Taylor Glende, juniors MaeLea Harmon, Alexis Morsching, Shelby Hermel, Tanner Ranslow, Tyler Hermel, and isaac Pratt, sophomore Jaden Taylor, and freshman Toryn Richards. Richards will compete in the pole vault and high jump. Harmon will compete in the 100-meter dash and the long jump. The girls 4 x 100-meter team includes Harmon, Richards, Morsching, and S. Hermel. The boys 4 x 100-meter team includes Byrne, Ranslow, Glende, and T. Hermel. The boys 4 x 200-meter relay team includes Taylor, Pratt, Byrne, and Glende.
