Kent Davis Rumrey, 73

Kent Davis Rumrey, 73, of Aberdeen, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at his home. His wishes were to be cremated.
Memorial services will be Saturday, February 9, 2019, at Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, with Pastor Rodney Johnson, of New Life Fellowship, officiating.
A luncheon and time of fellowship will immediately follow the service at Schriver’s Memorial Fellowship Center.
Visitation at the mortuary will be from 10:-11 a.m. on Saturday.

Kent Davis Rumrey was born November 26, 1945, to Edmund Davis and Evelyn Dolly (Weber) Rumrey in Aberdeen, SD. This is the area where he was raised and attended school. Following graduation from Aberdeen Central High School, Kent moved to Minneapolis, MN and began working construction.
Kent was united in marriage to Linda Simes on July 21, 2000, in Waterville, MN. The couple lived in Texas, where Kent worked with his brother, Mark, for 14 years. Upon retiring, Kent and Linda moved to Aberdeen to be closer to family and their grandchildren. Kent continued to make Aberdeen his home until the time of his death.
Kent was a past member of Pheasants Forever. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. Kent also was an avid pool player and belonged to three different pool leagues. He enjoyed spending Monday afternoons shooting pool with the guys at the Senior Center. Above all, he loved spending time with family and especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Grateful to have shared in Kent’s life is his wife of 18 years, Linda Rumrey of Aberdeen; his step-sons, Chad (Amanda) Simes of Ipswich, SD and Eric (Brandy) Simes of Ham Lake, MN; eight grandchildren: Rayce, Dylan, Carson, Joshua, Izabella, Sullivan, Sylas, and Signe; two brothers, Bruce (Laura) Rumrey of Foley, AL and Mark (Sue) Rumrey of Aberdeen; two sisters, Susan (Larry) Manning of Coon Rapids, MN and Rebecca Paddock of Iron Mt., MI; and many nieces and nephews.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Evelyn; step-daughter, Rachel; and grandson, Austin.
