Clarissa Lucile Lamont, 42

Clarissa Lucile Lamont, age 42, of Brooklyn Center, MN, went home to be with her Lord, surrounded by family, at her home, on Sunday, March 31, 2019, after fighting a most courageous battle for several years with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, rheumatoid arthritis and eventual kidney failure. Born Clarissa Lucile Simons on April 6, 1976, in Brainerd, MN to Ruth (Lamont) Jansen and Robert Simons, she lived in Emily, Crosby, Brainerd, and moved to the Twin Cities after high school, eventually purchasing her home in Brooklyn Center, MN. Clarissa was a 1994 graduate of Brainerd High School, earned her AA degree from Central Lakes College, a BA from St. Catherine’s Univ. and was studying for her Master Degree in Psychology from St. Mary’s Univ. Clarissa was passionate about helping people improve their lives in her career as a mental health professional. She also loved being a Founding Curator with The Cocoa Exchange and sharing their products with the world. Left to cherish Clarissa’s memory are her mother Ruth Jansen, stepfather John Jansen, stepmother Susan Simons, her fur babies Max and Ozzy, sisters Angel (Dan) Oehrlein, Sharry Lorenzi, Bobbi Jo Lamont, stepsiblings Joe (Carrie) Jansen, Jennifer (Andrew) Henschel, Justin (Elizabeth) Jansen, Jordan (Kristin) Jansen, beloved aunt Shirley (Tom) Krenik, nieces Amanda, Cassie, Emilia, Rachel, Ashley, Mary-Joyce, Jessikah, Maddie, Isabella, nephews Andrew, Dominic, Rob, Armando, Nick, Drew, Anthony, Dylan, Jake, Alex, Connor, Bradley, and many great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Robert Simons, grandparents Lawrence & Lucile Lamont, Perry & Clarice Simons, and uncle Curtis LaMont. Clarissa’s family would like to thank the incredible staff of Abbott Northwestern cardiology ICU for their care and devotion shown to Clarissa and her family throughout her care and to Heartland Hospice for providing her the chance to pass away in her own home surrounded by family and her beloved fur babies. Clarissa continued helping others even after she was gone. Her final wish to donate her body to science was granted through the University of Minnesota anatomy donation program. Her eyes were able to be used through the organ donor program as well. A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Park United Methodist Church, Brainerd, MN.
