Tennis team loses 2AA opener to Hutch
On Tuesday, May 14, the New Prague Trojan tennis team played just their second home playoff match in the past 10 years. Seeded fourth in Section 2AA south, they faced off against No. 5 seed Hutchinson.
“While New Prague beat Hutchinson earlier in the year, almost every match was close, and we knew it was going to be close here too,” said Coach Ben Hilding.
In the end, Hutchinson claimed a 4-3 win, ending the Trojans’ dual meet season. The trojans won just one singles match, with Jake Wilson winning at No. 3 singles by a score of 4-6, 6-1, 6-4. Down 4-1 in the third set, Wilson won the last....
