Swim team competes vs. Mound, Orono

The New Prague Trojan girls swim and dive team hosted Mound Westonka and traveled to Orono over the past two weeks, losing both Wright County Conference duals. The Trojans were scheduled to host St. Peter in their final dual of the season on Tuesday, Oct. 15, after this edition of The New Prague Times went to press.

New Prague will host the WCC JV meet on Monday, Oct. 21, and will travel to Hutchinson Saturday, Oct. 26, for the WCC Championships.

Whitehawks 97, Trojans 84 The Trojans hosted Mound Westonka on Thursday, Oct. 3, and Coach Cassie Jung said the team had a good meet. Mound won the meet 97-84.

"We had several girls get personal best times and it is always exciting to see that happen in our own pool," Jung said. "We only have one home meet left, so seeing girls excel at that meet, only makes them more excited for our next and final home meet of the season."

Courtney French swam her very first 500 Freestyle ever for the Junior Varsity, finishing in a very respectable 7:12.26. The JV divers finished 1-2, with Lucy Helgestad achieving a score of 116.20 and seventh grader Brooklynn Schrock earning 110.35. In the JV 200 Individual Medley, New Prague finished...
