Phyllis (Olund) Johnson, 98

Phyllis (Olund) Johnson, 98, of New Prague died June 11, 2019 at the Mala Strana Residence in New Prague.

She is survived by her son Reid (Cynthia) and grandchildren Brianna (Eric) Fischer, Aaron (Mary-Elizabeth) Johnson, and Lizzy (Alex) Larson, and three great-grandchildren, Maribelle Fischer, Zella Fischer and Winter Larson.

Phyllis was proceeded in death by her husband Clifford, daughter Ann, and brothers Wesley Olund, Lloyd Olund, Gordon Olund, and sister Shirley Peterson. She is also survived by four nieces and one nephew, all of whom had a special place in her heart.

Phyllis was born to Charles and Elna Olund in Cambridge, MN. She graduated from St. Cloud Teacher’s College, and taught in Appleton and Buffalo, MN where she met her husband Clifford.

Together they lived in Buffalo, St. Louis Park, and Minnetonka, where they were members of Westwood Lutheran Church. In retirement they moved to Philipp Square in New Prague, where Phyllis had beloved friends.

At Phyllis’ request, in lieu of a funeral, the family will hold a private memorial service later this summer at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis.
