NP runners shine at home
Running on a short week where they had competed the previous Saturday in Mounds View, New Prague’s cross-country runners enjoyed their lone home meet of the season with solid results Tuesday, Sept. 24.
After nine days off to rest, recover and train, New Prague will be in Owatonna today, Thursday, Oct. 3, for an invitational race.
NP Invitational
The NPHS boys enjoyed a strong day Tuesday, Sept. 24, finishing third at their home invitational race at Cedar Lake Farm Regional Park.
All five NP runners were among the top-30 runners across the finish line in the 5K race.
Zeke Russo had perhaps his best day of the season. He finished 17th in 17:57.
The trio of Bjorn Olson, Sam Quade and Caden Wolf finished 22nd, 23rd and 26th, respectively. Olson crossed the line in 18:32, just one second ahead of Quade. Wolf finished in 18:49. All three runners were well ahead of their time at the race a year ago.
Jesse Amberson finished 28th for the Trojans in 18:59. Lucas Scheffler finished in 19:06, good for 31st place while Tyler Flicek finished 37th in 19:23.
Both Quade and Scheffler topped their previous personal-bests at the course.
