Meet & Greet Invite for City Administrator Candidates, Mon. June 28th

 The New Prague City Council is hosting a Meet & Greet event at the New Prague Golf Club, 400 Lexington Ave. S., on Monday, June 28, 2021 from 4-6 p.m.  The purpose of the Meet & Greet event is for members of the public to meet the finalists selected for the position of City Administrator. The event will be an informal event allowing for attendees to visit with each finalist and provide written feedback of which will be shared with the City Council following their final interview on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. 

Liza Donabauer of DDA Human Resources, Inc., is the consultant hired to assist the City in the selection process. A brief bio for each individual finalist follows. 

New Prague City Administrator Finalists

Dan Madsen is currently the City Administrator/City Attorney/EDA Director for the City of Rockford, MN, where he has served for approximately 7.5 years. Prior to his position in Rockford, Mr. Madsen was a City Administrator, Special Counsel, EDA Director for the City of Madelia, MN, where he served for approximately 5.75 years. He has also been a Senior Judicial Law Clerk for Steele County, MN, for 3.25 years. Mr. Madsen holds a Juris Doctor from the William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, MN, and a bachelor’s degree in English from Augsburg College, MN.

Joshua Tetzlaff currently serves as the City Administrator for the City of Dodge Center, MN. He has held this position for 2.5 years.  Prior to that, Mr. Tetzlaff was the Senior Planner and Associate Planner for the City of Brighton, CO, for 3.25 years, and he served as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Longmont, CO, for one year. Mr. Tetzlaff holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Dakota and a Master of City and Regional Planning from Clemson University. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of South Dakota – Vermillion.

Jason Tobin is currently the Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Shakopee, MN, where he has been in the position for approximately 2.75 years. Prior to that, he served as the City of Chaska, MN, Finance Manager for approximately two years. He also served as the Director of Resource Management of Religious Support Services for the US Army in San Antonio, TX, for nearly three years, and as the Division Chief of Resource Management – Religious Support Services for one year for Fort Campbell Garrison in Clarksville, TN.  Mr. Tobin served as the Program Manager-Religious Support Services for the Airborne Brigade Combat Team in Anchorage, AK/Iraq and Special Operations Aviation Regiment in Clarksville, TN/Afghanistan/Iraq for five years. Mr. Tobin holds a Master of Business Administration and Public Administration from Syracuse University, a Master of Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma, a Master of Divinity from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, MN, and a bachelor’s degree in English Literature.
