Jon Frederick Schilling, 80

Jon Frederick Schilling, born on February 4, 1944, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 80, following years of complications due to COPD.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Edna Schilling (nee Sholin), and his sister, Nancy Hafermann (nee Schilling).

He married Mary Heckenlaible, on January 2, 1965. Together, they raised three children: Amy Therese, Rebecca Jean, and Frederick Lee.   He shared another son, Michael Jon, with his second wife.  Jon also adopted a young boy, Zeke, who provided youthful energy in his home during his later years. 

Jon graduated from New Prague High School in 1962.  He pursued higher education with dedication, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from St. John's University in 1966, followed by a Master of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota in 1968. His academic achievements laid the foundation for a successful career.

Jon dedicated 27 years of his professional life to IBM, where he made significant contributions until his retirement in 1995. His expertise and leadership were further recognized when he served as the Chief Financial Officer at Dagoba Organic Chocolate, a role he embraced with enthusiasm and commitment.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jon was passionate about golf, a sport that brought him immense joy and relaxation. His love for the game was well-known among family and friends, and he cherished the moments spent on the golf course.

Jon's legacy is one of integrity, dedication, and achievement. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering commitment to his family, his professional integrity, and, yes, his love of golf. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
