A grand day for FaithPoint

With sun shining through the large windows in FaithPoint Lutheran Church’s new sanctuary, Rev. Dr. Steve Trewartha warmly welcomed congregation members, friends, and visitors to the church’s Grand Opening worship service and celebration on Sunday morning, August 22, approximately one year after the church held its groundbreaking ceremony.

The 14-acre campus is located at 1051 270th Street West (one mile north of the car dealerships on Redwing Avenue) in New Prague.

A ribbon-cutting event was held prior to the service to kickstart the event.

“I’m overwhelmed with gratitude,” stated Trewartha with a smile as he joined the crowd in the church’s fellowship hall following the morningworship service. “It’s a proud day for FaithPoint… So many people gave their time, talents, and finances to make this day—and this beautiful new building—possible.”

According to Trewartha, numerous congregation members—including computer experts, professional painters, skilled interior designers, and landscaping professionals, among others—took hands-on rolls in the construction of the new building.

“We worked with our contractor to use some of our own God-given skills,” he explained. “We’re blessed to have many members who were willing to step up and help both financially and physically.”

In addition, the church received more than $200,000 worth of donated goods, including: countertops, a dishwasher, a fireplace, exterior drain tile, an irrigation system, computer equipment, trees, and more.

“We have been planning and praying for how God would use us for the good of the community,” Trewartha stated. “The people of this congregation have acted on their vision to reach more people and honor God. We invite everyone to come and see this beautiful new building and find out how it will be used to further His kingdom.”
