Easter Egg Hunts to be held for children

There will be two drive through events for area children this weekend. On Saturday, March 27, from 10-11:30 a.m. Elko New Market’s Community & Civic Events Committee (CCEC) will be hosting the annual Egg Hunt. On Sunday, March 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church, west of New Prague, will have an Easter for Kids Drive-Thru.
On March 27, CCEC with New Prague Area Schools are welcoming children up to fifth grade to participate in a drive through at the Eagle View Elementary School parking lot, 25600 Nevada Ave. in Elko New Market. Children will receive a bag of candy and toys. Entertainment includes a visit by the Easter Bunny. This year’s Egg Hunt is free and no registration is required. The Easter for Kids Drive-Thru on March 28 at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church, 28983 181st Ave., west of New Prague, is free, but they are asking people to please register by calling 952-564-9496 or email flcpastor@bevcomm.net. The modified drive-through Easter for Kids event is usually an in-person event with stations for story telling, crafts and activities. This year all the information will be available to children in a pre-made Easter for Kids packet. The packet includes a booklet that tells with pictures and words how Jesus died for our sins and then rose back to life on Easter.
FaithPoint Lutheran Church, 201 Central Ave. N in New Prague, will be having Easter Egg Hunts for children after their 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. Easter Services on Sunday, April 4.
