Duane Franek, 72

Duane Franek of Prior Lake, MN, passed away peacefully at the age of 72, on November 25, 2024. Born in New Prague, MN. Duane proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and later built a successful career as an entrepreneur with his business, Franek Laser & Fab, retiring in 2024.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Christine, and children: Katie Pavlisko (Aaron), Kevin Franek (Kim), and Kenny Franek (Joanna). He was also a proud grandfather to Charlotte, Caden, Cassidy, Chase, Ava, and George. Duane is now reunited in Heaven with his infant daughter, Karen, and was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Rose. He is survived by his siblings: Lavonne VonBank, Ken Franek (Judy), Joe Franek (Jackie), Dennis Franek (Donna), Sharon King, Kathy Sawatzke, Terry Franek, and Sue Isaacson (Dave).

He will be deeply missed and never forgotten by his family and friends. 

There will be a gathering  to honor Duane’s life on Saturday, December 28 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the KC Hall in New Prague.
