DRS baseball season on standby

The start to the 2020 DRS Baseball League is currently on hold.

According to League President Mike Sticha, they are waiting for more information from the Minnesota Baseball Association before rescheduling.

“We are 100 percent up in the air regarding our season. The Minnesota Baseball Association (MBA) Board of Directors (the State amateur governing board) plans to meet remotely on Saturday, April 18,” Sticha said. “They may provide some additional guidance. Currently, they are requesting no games take place prior to May 1. I’m guessing that will be extended out further.”

The DRS League plans to meet remotely on Monday, April 20 where they will discuss a myriad of options. The best case scenario is they can start in May and make up games missed. A more likely scenario is they would start in June/July sometime and play a reduced schedule, or worse case scenario, the full season is cancelled.

“We will follow the direction provided to us by the MBA,” Sticha said.
