Donald “Donny” Moravec, 78

Donald “Donny” Frank Moravec, 78, of New Prague, formally of Montgomery, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery with visitation held two hours prior.

Donny was born May 3, 1942, in Lanesburgh Township to Eugene and Alice (Holey) Moravec. Donny attended Country School in Montgomery through the eighth grade and graduated high school at Montgomery- Lonsdale High School. He went on to join the National Guard after graduation. Donny worked as a sheet metal worker at MVE for many years.

Donny enjoyed many things in life like visiting with family and friends, drinking beer, and dancing. He also enjoyed spending time fishing and hunting. Donny loved playing euchre with family and friends.

Donny is survived by his children, Joseph (Linda) Moravec of Waterville, Julie (Clint) Swanson of Big Lake; siblings, Clarence (Betty) Moravec of Le Center, Harold (Dorothy) Moravec of Veseli, Darlene (Delbert) Malecha of Dundas, Delores (Joseph) Novotny of New Prague, Dorothy Moravec of Mankato and Debbie (David) Warnemunde of Shieldsville; grandchildren, Colton (Heather) Swanson, Amanda (Luke) Travis, Kaitlyn, Megan and Brandon Swanson, four great-grandchildren; special cousin and caregiver, Brenda Pederson, and many other relatives and friends.

Donny was preceded in death by his parents; former wife, Patricia (Barber) Linder.
