Three finalists selected for TCU superintendent

The Tri-City United School Board has selected three finalists to return for a second interview for the school district’s superintendent position. The semi-finalists are:

■ Carmen Daniels-Strahan, Principal, Mankato Public Schools, Mankato, MN
■ Lisa Edwards, Dir. of Continuous Improvement, Farmington Area Schools, Farmington, MN
■ Lonnie Seifert, Superintendent, GFW Schools, Gibbon, MN

The semi-finalists were selected from a pool of twenty-three applicants based on criteria established by the school board. Six applicants were interviewed last week.

The school board has scheduled interviews for the semi-finalists beginning at 1:45 pm, on Tuesday, April 7, 2020.

Due to the health pandemic, the school board has determined that it is not feasible for at least one board member, the superintendent, or the school district’s legal counsel to be physically present at the regular meeting location. It is also not feasible for the public to attend at the regular meeting location due to the health pandemic.

In accordance with Minnesota Statutes 13D.021, members of the public are not permitted to attend this meeting due to the current health pandemic. However, community and staff members are encouraged to submit questions for the Community/Staff Forum for Tuesday, April 7. This link will be open until Monday, April 6 at 6:00 pm. These questions will go directly to MSBA and then determinations will be made for what questions will be posed to finalists on Tuesday.

The school board meeting interviews will be recorded for public viewing on the school district website. The Community/Staff Q&A will be livestreamed for public viewing and input. More information will be provided on the school district’s website and social media.
