Curtis Erwin Kuethe, 81

Curtis Erwin Kuethe, 81, of Montgomery died May 5, 2021, at Central Health Care in Le Center. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 8 from 1 to 2:45 p.m. at the Le Center Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center with Pastor Ally Bowman officiating. Interment will be held in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Montgomery.

Curtis was born on February 25, 1940, to Ervin and Irene (Breamer) Kuethe. He attended Country School and Albert Lea High School. Curtis was united in marriage to Kay Waldemar on September 21, 1957, in Hartland, MN.

He worked for Wilson’s Meat Packing in Albert Lea, farmed, bought and ran Hide-a-Way Campground from 1976-1992, and ConAgra Mill in New Prague where he retired from. Curtis enjoyed watching sports - NASCAR, MN Twins, and the Vikings; playing cards, snowmobiling, and camping.

He was a member of the Lexington Sportsman’s Club, and a longtime Minneapolis Moline Tractor exhibitor at Pioneer Power. But most of all he enjoyed visiting with friends and new acquaintances.

Curtis is survived by his children, Debbie (Ron) Kopet of Le Center, Becky (Allan) Reak of New Prague, and Sue (Mike) Pekarna of Chanhassen; grandchildren, Matt (fiancé, Desiree Studnicka), Tim (Kim) Reak, Jon Reak, Heidi (Joe) Barber, and Chris (Kacey) Kopet; six great-grandchildren; sister, Marlys (Ray) Hacker of Lake Mills, IA.; brothers-in-law, Jerry Waldemar of Sunray, TX., Tom (Cheryl Wangsness) Waldemar of Rochester; and sister-in-law, Julie (Bob) Peterson of Alden, MN.

Curtis was preceded in death by his wife, Kay; and parents.
