According to an independent facility planning company, buildings in the Tri-City United District need improving, despite the recent multi-million-dollar bond referendum projects the district is finishing.

The suggestions were made by Sitelogiq, a Minneapolis-based planning, design, and management company. They conducted a civil engineering study at the Le Center school to determine the cause of the asphalt and concrete deterioration. They also recommended replacing school playground surfaces throughout the district to bring them up to current ADA standards, and a section of the roof at the high school.

Superintendent Lonnie Seifert said the motivation behind this assessment started in the fall of 2020 when the district’s school board Facilities Committee toured each of the sites owned by the district. During these tours, the committee determined it was best to come up with both short-term and long-term priorities.
