The WEM football team scored its first points of the season in Janesville Friday, Nov. 6.

But the lone touchdown was all they would put on the board as the JWP Bulldogs won their first game of the season, down- ing WEM, 31-6.

Senior Kurtis Crosby blocked a Bulldog’s punt and senior Travis Van Houdt returned the ball 29 yards midway through the second quarter.

The score cut the JWP lead to 13-6 with 6:54 left in the third quarter.

“Things got a little close after the blocked punt,” WEM head coach Mike Richards said. “I thought at that point the momentum
was on our side. We just couldn’t put another drive together.”
